About Me

My meandering path in life has taken me from the West of Ireland to London and San Francisco, and many far-flung places in between. My curious questioning mind, restless free spirit, powerful dreaming life, sixth sense, heart knowing, deep soul yearnings and psychic sensitivities—combined with a love of travel, culture and knowledge, ensured my path in life would not be a normal one. Nor has it been an easy one as I wandered down many roads less-travelled, outbound and inbound.

Within it all, my life’s calling stayed rooted in service to others and this has taken many different forms and shapes in the healthcare field. I started out as a nurse, training and working in London before going on to gain degrees in psychology and counseling. In between my various educational pursuits and trainings, I allowed my nomadic spirit the freedom it craved to roam and venture off beaten tracks, trying to find myself, it seemed. By my late twenties and early thirties, I was struggling to find my way in this world, especially upon my return from India. I grew increasingly depressed and anxious and without purpose, and while I did not want to die, I found that I did not really want to live either. I seemed to exist on the peripheries more and more, neither here nor there but somewhere between. Yet, it was precisely those in-between spaces and places that saved me—in particular those shadowy borderlands between sleeping, dreaming and waking.

Right there while dwelling in that twilight state between worlds, I received comfort and guidance, wisdom and knowledge. Throughout the years, I had always dreamed a lot and instinctively felt that these luminosities of the night were guiding my life, somehow. So it felt like the most natural thing in the world for me to write these down. I had been fascinated with dreams and psychic-related phenomena since about aged sixteen, after having had some unusual out-of-the-ordinary experiences that scared me half to death. I received all sorts of dreams with all sorts of messages, insights, precognitions, psychic revelations and warnings. But I could never have known that my dedicated dream journaling practice was in fact laying the foundation for my future work as a dream specialist, practitioner, educator and writer. And that I was being prepared for a lot more to come.

The turning point came during my early to mid-thirties, when I had a series of deeply healing dreams and some extraordinary phenomenal waking encounters with Light—with an otherworldly divinity, beauty and love that knows no bounds. The transformative impact of these events forever changed my life and its direction. Within a year, I had moved to San Francisco to begin my doctoral journey and phenomenological inquiry into the world of dreams, transpersonal dreaming, and altered waking states of consciousness. During this time, I worked as an independent home hospice provider. All in all, it was quite the journey, one that asked a lot of me, both academically and in terms of personal growth and healing. It proved to be a long, revelatory journey—from my head to my heart, and into my own soul’s knowing, my home.

Today, I marvel at how the various strands of my path in life all come together in ways that deeply inform my clinical, therapeutic, educational, meditative and writing practices. As I continue to walk the path of the dreamer, I am eternally grateful to be able to offer my services as a spiritual and psychological care provider, dream specialist and practitioner, counselor, educator and coach. My work brings me great joy.

About Dreamwork

Engaging with our dreams is a deep form of inner work—soul work that requires openness, honesty and receptivity along with commitment to the process. It requires a genuine interest and desire to want to know yourself better and to be willing to work with what dreams show us. Sometimes people shy away from dreamwork after discovering just how revelatory it is. With dreams’ symbolic language and subtle presence comes the spirit of truth and with the light of truth comes resistance—the ego’s best defense in town. Dreams shine light on the reality of what is, exactly as things are, and not what our minds would have us think! But dreamwork is truly a life-changing transformative process, one that unfolds slowly over time and leads to tremendous growth and development and an infinitely more conscious and lucid way of living in this world.

The dream world is as vast and deep as the ocean and as open as space itself. And there are many different kinds of dreams. Some rise to the surface upon awakening like the ocean’s froth only to be washed away with the blink of an eye. Yet others leave delicate sliver threads that when gently taken hold off, unravel hidden aspects of the dream and meaningful significance. And then there are big transpersonal dreams that wash through the body leaving emotional undercurrents and ripple effects impossible to forget and demanding our attention.

It is a good thing indeed then that we have at our disposal many ways to work with dreaming phenomena. What works for one person may not suit someone else. We are each unique and have diverse cultural shaping and conditioning. A range of approaches from ancient to contemporary, including indigenous, depth psychological, somatic and creative, expressive ways of working with dreams—all help embody dream meaning and significance.

Our Work Together

As an Irish woman, born and reared on the West Coast of Ireland, my Celtic roots runs deep, and my Celtic sight opens out ways of seeing into and beyond the physical world. Over the years my dream practice has naturally grounded itself in ancient dream healing practices—in particular Celtic Cosmological practices. As an experienced dreamer and inner guide, I frequently share important subtle information, strong intuitions and psychic impressions received during the process.

I also incorporate the depth psychological approach, exploring what lies within—an inner journey that leads to profound realizations, breakthroughs and healing. When we consciously choose to turn inward and look at what our dreams are showing us, we make contact with what Carl Jung called, the two million year old person that lives inside all of us. Our difficulties, Jung tells us, stem from having lost contact with our instincts and the age old wisdom that dwells in our hearts and souls, which can be accessed through dreams. This approach is powerful as it trusts in the autonomous healing capacity of the human psyche. For example, dreams bring unconscious processes that help shine light on psychological and emotional difficulties that may be resulting in depression. Also, many dreams frequently transmit powerful and subtle emotional affects that need to be experienced and integrated. Why? Because these dream elements are the essential components in the healing process and are key for helping unlock the deeper meaning.
